OcktoberFreshSo even though Sunday River was the first resort to "officially open" it seems perennial favorite Killington is not far behind. Powder Magazine reports from it's Boston-based contributor Tim Fater/SkiTheEast.net that K-1 is raring to go.
The rainy NorEaster that smacked the east coast last weekend dumped over 6-inches on fresh in the green mountains. Enough for you to get your skis shined up and your snowboards on.
Hop into your Subaru and rat tail it up I89 for some first tracks. Here's a poignant piece of prose from the piece that makes us dream up snow that's up to our titties or at least our balls.
"There was six inches of snow in the lot at the K-1 gondola where we parked.
Within a few minutes, we were stomping through the plowed snow at the edge of the parking lot. We made our way to the boot pack which rose up the side of one of the trails.
A skier raced by us as we started our hike and when we shouted at him to ask how the skiing was, he responded enthusiastically, tittyballs.
Now, we weren't familiar with that adjective, but judging by the smile on his face, it meant pretty darn good."
