EasternSnowboardLeague.comThe Eastern Snowboard League recently launched its new website, EasternSnowboardLeague.com.
The League, established by Burton-owned The Program* (Foursquare, Forum and Special Blend brands), will be a multi-stop contest series at resorts including Big Boulder, Holiday Vallery and Seven Springs.
It seems the intent is to better unite the east coast snowboard scene and provide a quality controlled contest series to showcase up-and-coming east coast talent. The site's about section, titled "The League: Defined" is a bit esoteric (as are it's video teasers below), yet its clear that the effort of creating a notable contest circuit is more about inclusion than exclusion.
The Program's Junior Kantor states, "It's about our roots and loyalty to this region, it's about our communities, bragging rights, and the reason we all go snowboarding in the first place--for fun."
The 3-stop series schedule:
Stop 1 | Holiday Valley
Saturday, January 15, 2011
Stop 2 | Big Boulder
Saturday, February 5, 2011
Stop 3 | Seven Springs
Saturday, February 19, 2011
Here's the official release:

Snowboarding and the subculture that defines it are truly infinite by design. Founded upon the concepts of dynamic individualism the Eastern Snowboard League has been formed as an avenue to highlight the talent and competitive identities of the riders and resorts based on the east coast. This league will be a collaborative effort of select resorts and brands which embody the originality, progression, and undying spirit of east coast snowboarding.
The Eastern Snowboard League is the brain child of The Program* brands, Holiday Valley Resort, big boulder PARK, and 7-Springs Mountain Resort. Thus in its introductory year, the series will feature three events in which riders can accumulate points towards the overall standings. The host resorts and respective park crews will pull out all the stops to present riders with the most progressive and innovative contest format set ups to date. Each resort will capitalize on its unique identity, allowing their park crew to showcase their build talents that earned them national recognition.
The Eastern Snowboard League will boast some of the best competitive formats to date on the east coast, featuring Destroyer (pro) and Youngblood (am) divisions. Riders in the Eastern Snowboard League will be accruing points at each stop for some of the richest prizes in east coast amateur snowboarding. The Destroyer division will be fighting it out for cold hard cash at each stop, as well as a slot at Superpark courtesy of Snowboarder Magazine, the official media partner of Eastern Snowboard League. Riders in the Youngblood division won't be left out in the icy cold of the right coast: a trip to Woodward at Copper is on the line, with travel expense covered as well (drink tickets not included).
With that said, we cordially invite you to head on over to easternsnowboardleague.com, and see what all the fuss about. Check out exclusive content, interviews, random items of amusement, and while you're there, check out what our brand partners Special Blend, Forum, Foursquare, Snowboarder Magazine, Woodward at Copper, Oakley, Skullcandy, Red Bull Snowboarding, and myPOV360 have to offer.
Get ready to send it.
