The Gatorade Free Flow Tour today announced the start of the Virtual Stop Video Contest. For the first time in the winter season, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour and Newschoolers come together to bring a video submission contest that will give up to two freeskiers wildcard entry into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals taking place February 10-13, 2011 at Snowbasin Resort, in conjunction with the Winter Dew Tour Championships.
The Virtual Stop Video Contest will run from now until January 31, 2011 and will accept videos from amateur male and female slopestyle and superpipe freeskiers who are between the ages of 13 and 21 at the date of entry. For complete rules and regulations, as well as to enter videos for consideration, visit www.newschoolers.com/freeflowcontest.com.
Each video submitted in the contest must be an original creation under two minutes in length. Judging for the Virtual Stop Video Contest will take part in two phases. Phase 1 will award up to two freeskiers the Grand Prize, which is a wildcard entry into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals. This will occur after the submission period has ended, with judges from Alli Sports and Newschoolers evaluating all submitted videos based on overall style, control, variety of tricks and using obstacles, technical ability, consistency and amplitude. In Phase 2, judging will take place during the submission period by the public, determining the Viewer s Choice winner, based off of positive comments in the comment section below the video.
When voting from both Phase 1 and 2 has been tabulated and compiled, up to two freeskiers will be named Grand Prize winners of the contest, and up to two named Viewers Choice winners. The winners of the Virtual Stop Video Contest will be announced on Feb 1-2, 2011, and each Grand Prize winner will be awarded wildcard entry into the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, taking place February 10-13, 2011, at Snowbasin Resort in Utah.
