The Gatorade Free Flow Tour also held slopestyle competitions at Keystone on Jan. 23, where 20-year-old Metrailler from Switzerland consistently soared above the competition with his amplitude, landing a clean switch 720 during his winning run and earning a score of 86.25.
It's so good to be in the United States and to have won this competition,
said Metrailler.
I think my spinning did the trick today, because not a lot of people were spinning unnatural.
In the men
s snowboard slopestyle competition, Freeport, Maine-native Kyle, 21, started his winning run with an switch backside 540 into a backside 5 and finished it off with a cab 900, earning a trip to the Finals with a 92.00. Blewitt, a 21 year old from Madison, Wis., claimed an 80.00, utilizing a cab 180 and front 360.
It feels pretty sweet to have won,
said Kyle.
I'm really excited to go to Finals. I just need to make sure I get my tricks down, like the cab 9 I did today, and I'll be all set.
I've been to other events before, but I think the GFFT has been the best,
added Blewitt.
I'm really excited to go to the East Coast for the first time and compete. Should be fun!
