Jackson Hole has long been a hotbed destination for those looking to tackle the deep snow and steep terrain of the Wasatch. It's reputation as a freeride mecca is is one reason TGR calls it home. Aiding in the resort's efforts to make Jackson a breeding ground for the world's best all-around skiers, Jackson Hole Freeride Club announced today the addition of a high qualified coach, skier and all-around good dude - Jesse Howe. Here's the release...
"The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club (JHSC) is incredibly excited to announce the hiring of Jesse Howe as the Freeride Program s new Head Freeride Ski Coach. Jesse comes to Jackson from Winter Park Resort, CO where for the past 6 years he oversaw 140+ athletes as the Developmental Freestyle Coordinator and Head Coach at Winter Park Resort s Competition Center.
Jesse has a B.A. in Child Psychology from San Diego State University, is a level 200 USSA licensed coach and is certified in CPR/First Aid. Since graduating, he has been coaching competitive skiers in slopestyle, halfpipe, big mountain, moguls, aerials, gymnastics, foam pit and water ramp venues as well as substitute teaching grades K-12. Jesse s coaching philosophy is in line with JHSC s healthy lifestyle approach and comprehensive on and off snow training regimen.
While at Winter Park Resort Jesse was involved with the design and creation of freestyle terrain in addition to the execution of halfpipe and slopestyle events. His previous role required extensive communication with coaches, athletes and parents including website, blog, photo and video updates. Jesse is also a fluent Spanish speaker and part time freelance writer for ski industry websites natives.co.uk and maddogski.com.
Jesse s combined knowledge, experience and expertise will strengthen the Freeride Program's entire training and competition regiment from developing athletes to the most elite competitors.
Please join us at JHSC s Program Sign Up Day Saturday, October 2nd to meet Jesse and learn more about this year s programs. Jesse is also available by email at jhowe@jhskiclub.org. A full bio on Jesse will be available soon at www.jhskiclub.org."
Well done Jesse! Looking forward to working with you from the Natives camp :-) Hope to make it out to visit you too, though looking more likely to be 2012 now!
