Only two weeks remain until the 6Star Burton US Open, which will feature the crowning of the men's and women's 2010/11 Swatch TTR World Tour Champion titles. Finnish rider, Peetu Piiroinen, has once again clinched the men's title for an incredible third time in a row. Peetu has been an amazing force on the competition scene since he emerged from Finland in the 2008/09 season and is one of very few riders to excel across the board in halfpipe, slopestyle and big air formats. In the women's champion race, it's going to come down to slopestyle specialist, Jamie Anderson (USA), and halfpipe expert, Kelly Clark (USA), and will depend on how these two riders fare at the 5Star Mammoth Grand Prix and the 6Star Burton US Open. In addition to the champion race, men will be competing for a TTR Top 5 finish and women will be reaching for a TTR Top 3 finish, which will earn them a piece of the $200,000 end of season prize purse.

With results calculated from the 6Star Oakley Arctic Challenge last weekend, it has been confirmed that no rider can earn enough points to unseat Peetu Piiroinen from his World No. 1 position. Peetu had another stellar season and managed to stand atop four 6Star podiums in halfpipe, slopestyle and big air formats; a feat that no other rider on tour has managed to accomplish this season. Peetu is able to push ahead of the pack with his versatile skills in all disciplines and will be awarded for his impressive season at the close of the US Open.

Other male riders can still post results at the 5Star Burn River Jump in Livigno, Italy this weekend and at the 5Star Mammoth Grand Prix next weekend in Mammoth Lakes, California to boost their TTR points before the Burton US Open. Belgian rider, Seppe Smits, is currently in the World No. 2 spot with Canadians, Sebastien Toutant and Mark McMorris, in World No. 3 and World No. 4, respectively. These three riders have been destroying slopestyle and big air competitions around the world, but will need to keep an eye out for Swiss halfpipe riders, Iouri Podladtchikov who is in World No. 5 and Christian Haller in World No. 6. All men who finish in the TTR Top 5 will be awarded with a piece of the TTR end of season prize purse. Additionally, all men who finish in the TTR Top 10 will receive automatic invites to all 5Star and 6Star events in the 2011/2012 season.

On the women's side, the race for the TTR Champion title has been narrowed down to just Jamie Anderson and Kelly Clark. Jamie has a healthy lead, but if Kelly can take the win at the 5Star Mammoth Grand Prix halfpipe, she will still be in contention with Jamie for the title at the US Open. Women who finish the season in the TTR Top 3 will receive a portion of the end of season prize purse and the World No. 2 and 3 positions are still up for grabs. Slovenian rider, Cilka Sadar, is currently in World No. 2 and will need to defend her position against the likes of current World No. 3, Sina Candrian (SUI) and World No. 4 Kjersti Ostgaard-Buaas (NOR).

Keep up with all the action leading up to the 6Star Burton US Open, on the at ttrworldtour.com.
