Burlington, VT's Nick Scolfield - battling cancer.

For anyone familiar with Burton or the East Coast snowboarding scene, you probably know or have heard of Nick Scolfield.

Nick is an OG shredder based in Burlington, VT. He has at various times been the manager of the now defunct B-Side, a roving events manager on the Free Flow Tour and also a loyal Burton employee - having thrived in many roles including Demo Tour dynamo, the Flagship Store Czar and in Customer Service Manager.

Nick is as solid a guy as you can meet -- and a solid rider to boot. Always with a smile on his face, a open hand to shake and a love for snowboarding above all else. Sadly, Nick recently has been battling cancer, which at this stage makes him too weak to attend next week's US Open in Stratton, VT, an event he's attended for God knows how many years.

In an effort to raise money to help in Nick's battle with cancer, his friends today launched the "Rally 4 Nick Scolfied" fan page on Facebook, which directs fans to an Ebay auction.

The auction features some of Nick's insane collection of snowboarding gear including a Burton Custom Limited Edition Playboy model and a Vintage Burton Craig Kelly Mystery Air.
