South Florida skate shop owner Rene Lecour is a first generation Cuban-American. With a love of skateboarding and a desire to help those who remain in the birthplace of his parents and facing economic shortfalls, Rene began accepting donations of used skateboarding equipment from his local community in Florida. Bringing the decks, trucks and wheels to Havana as part of a "cultural exchange" Lecour has found that oceans and government policies aren't enough to cut the ties that bind.
