Danny Davis at the Breck Dew Tour in December of
2009. Next year snowboarders will enjoy a 22-foot
pipe instead of an 18 footer. So the new schedule for next winter's Dew Tour is up. The big news is that Dew Tour will now be utilizing 22-foot pipes for all competitions unlike the standard 18-foot pipes used thus far. During the 2009-2010 season, this proved to be problematic for Dew Tour as competitors looking to qualify for the Olympics did not compete because the smaller pipe at Dew Tour threw them off their game. Though the 2014 Winter Games are a long way off, it makes sense to make the jump now to the larger more legit pipe.
Also of interest is the move from Mt Snow to Killington for the tour's first stop. This is a welcome development as Killington has a much bigger and better infrastructure in the way of hotels and nightlife to support such a major event. While Mt Snow is quaint, it's tough to get to and is also cricket-ville after the sun sets. Here's the full release.

I
m stoked that the Winter Dew Tour will have 22-foot pipes this season,
said professional snowboarder, Danny Davis.
The level of riding and amplitude that we can get on the larger pipe makes all of the difference. Fans can expect to see some awesome competitions all season long.
We
ve seen tremendous growth over the past two seasons and expect our third to be no different,
said Chris Prybylo, General Manager of the Winter Dew Tour.
Adding Killington and taking the pipe to 22 feet at our final two stops positions us for our best season yet.
