Weekends may be reserved for some (much-needed) R&R, but while most of us were snoozing this past Saturday, Airwalk surfer Anastasia Ashley was pitching in and supporting a beach clean-up organized by the Surfrider Foundation s Oahu chapter.
Following the clean-up, Anastasia spoke to event participants about the importance of keeping our beaches clean. She also informed the crowd about a new initiative from Airwalk this holiday season, designed to give back to those in need The Good Shoe Project. When customers purchase a pair of Airwalk s exclusive Hope Shoe for $19.99 at Payless stores and online, the retailer will give a free pair of kids shoes to an impoverished child in Central America, as part of The Good Shoe Project. Working with humanitarian organization World Vision, the initiative will run from December 15 through February 14, 2011.
To spread the word about this great new project, Airwalk supplied pairs of the Hope shoe to the first 30 attendees! Volunteers were also gifted with Airwalk T-shirts and stickers as a huge thank you from the brand for supporting the clean-up.
