This is a bit unfortunate - looks like Mike Ballard, the publisher of the venerable Skatebook, has run headlong into the evil monster called corporate America.

Recently Skatebook produced an issue that featured Bart Simpson on the cover as well as shredding famous skate spots, apparently without permission from Fox who owns the copyright on Bart's image and likeness.

First the bad news, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and its related entities (collectively "Fox") is suing Skatebook for paying tribute to and turning Bart Simpson Pro, illustrating him ripping the most famous spots in skateboarding's history.

So more than likely Skatebook is a wrap because of the legal fees and cost this suit will bring down on this non-profit dig. Second if your selling this classic book Fox is demanding it be pulled from the shelf's and destroyed or else.

But the good news is, your classic edition of "Skatebook Lance Mountain Edition" will surely go up in worth, it will probably be worth more then the coveted Cardial cover book that has recently been sold for 240 bucks on Amazon.com

We will keep everyone posted on the case, pray for us that we can somehow survive the wrath of the Fox Intellectual Property Department, they seem to think Skatebook is a big company with deep pockets.

Action sports is pretty badass, and ever since we've been inundated with all this MMA hoopla and UFC adverstisements, we have to admit that mixed martial arts is pretty badass, too.

Hell even Kelly Slater thinks so.

With that, check out this little gem, which pits a future Aussie punk surfer/skate rat kid against a future UFC heavyweight.

Regardless who wins, the outcome is, in and of itself, pretty badass.

Peetu Pirroinen - if you won K three years in a
row, you'd be happy too.Finnish super snowboarder Peetu Piiroinen has just won his third straight TTR World Snowboard Championship at the Burton US Open of Snowboarding.

In the following video, the creative folks at Nike 6.0 have cleverly concluded that the best way to pay tribute to Peetu's three-peat was to show us that good things always happen in threes - and for Peetu nothing could be further from the truth.

Next Sunday March 27th, at Mt Baldy in southern California, Arbor snowboards and REI present the Mt Baldy Banked Slalom Spring Snowboarding Expo.

The event runs from 9am to 4pm and is open to snowboarders of all ages and abilities.

Competitors have the chance to win snowboards, skateboards as well as loads of swag.
